Elizabeth Hale Knox founded her private voice studio to help singers find their best voice

Located west of Oak Park, Illinois (just 11 miles straight west from the Chicago lakefront) the River Forest Voice Studio helps singers solve vocal problems and discover vocal freedom.

 

Classical Vocal Technique is the Foundation of Good Singing

Ms. Knox anchors her proven teaching method in the development of specific vocal techniques aimed at giving singers a classical technical foundation that can be applied to various vocal styles, including opera, musical theater, baroque, jazz, cross-over, and popular song.

Ms. Knox has taught for more than 20 years—both in her private River Forest Voice Studio and in schools throughout the Chicago area. She has served on the faculty of the Chicago Academy for the Arts and the Illinois Benedictine University. Ms. Knox also served as a board member of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and as President of the Chicago Singing Teachers Guild.

Students of Ms. Knox have been accepted to top music schools, won National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions, earned scholarship money, successfully auditioned for renowned choirs and musicals, and been awarded professional contracts.

Ms. Knox is also an accomplished performer throughout the Chicago area. Her extensive performance experience, along with her superior understanding of the development of vocal technique, gives her students the edge necessary to audition, compete, and perform.
